Principal Engineer  - SDN Operations Transformation

As a member of Software Defined Networking (SDN) Operations Transformation team in Verizon Network & Technology organization focused on strategic technology evolution of Global IT Networks.

Lead the process of redesigning day-to-day domestic and global network operations functions required to support the SDN environment which incorporates existing Network and Platform Ops and new DevOps functions taking full advantage of operational efficiencies by a software defined network and network function virtualization. Work with stake holders to bring transformational change by:

·   Demonstrating an in-depth understanding of network operations workflow, procedures and rules of engagement

·   Analyzing and developing of new operational procedures leveraging all of the benefits of an SDN-enabled environment

·   Managing and leading cross-functional teams and organizations to build consensus on approaches for managing the transition to new, more efficient operational models

·   Developing and managing documentation for operational changes and transition plans for platforms migrating to SDN or NFV space.

·   Engaging both the internal and external program management teams to develop network strategy and robust plans for component and application level transition to an SDN operations model

Recognized by Sr. VP of Internal Audit for leading the development of a Network Technology Audit practice in Internal Audit, supporting the development of a best-in-class Internal Audit function by introducing TM Forum’s eTOM framework to standardize Operations audits and improve execution quality and time.

Responsible for:

Development and execution of Network Technology audits in Verizon Wireless, Wireline, Telematics or any other Verizon Subsidiaries. For each engagement, developing an in-depth understanding of the functions audited. Applications, systems, and complex business process reviews to understand business risks and identify controls which may mitigate these risks in areas of Network Operations and Security.
